A blog about seeking joy and living life
Hi there! My name is Noor. My friends and family always ask me how I can be so positive and joyful all the time. People I meet for the first time and people who work with me also ask me the same questions. It’s not that I feel that way 24/7, that would be impossible. But in situations where most people perceive as the end of the world, I perceive differently.
I can’t say my life has been easy. My childhood and adulthood have been fraught with conflict, instability, insecurity and responsibility. At the same time, I have always been able to separate my internal irrational monologue and reality, and have also always been able to put things into perspective in the grand scheme of things.
It’s important to feel grounded and be able to identify the things that really matter. I’m not saying I’m a world renowned expert on all things joy or life, neither am I a psychologist with a PHD. I’m just like you. But sometimes, the greatest advice can come from a friend. Everyone can benefit from other people’s perspectives and experiences. And I hope that you can benefit too.
In my blog, I hope to explore different aspects of life and take you through what I think is important in each aspect and how to navigate these aspects when they get tough.
Before I end this post though, I want to clarify further what joy means, at least to me. Joy is a combination of being content and being grateful. When you put these two together, you can’t help but smile, because in this moment, everything feels perfect. That exact moment is there every single day. You just need to observe it.
At the end of the day, life is short and we only have one life. Don’t let it pass you by waiting for that future moment where supposedly everything is going to be perfect. We are changing everyday, so is life, so is everything around us. We owe it to ourselves to be happy today.
Join me in this blog, from a friend to a friend, let’s find joy together.
